Multiskilled Engineer

Ref: CP5051 Salary: ££32800 + 30% Contract Type: PermanentLocation: Ashford

An exciting new instruction for a Multi Skilled Engineer with a global manufacturing client (non-food) and key employer in the area.

The ideal person:

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within an Engineering team in a high volume manufacturing environment.

Package:

Excellent benefits package is available including a salary of £32,800 + 30% Shift Allowance.

This is a Monday to Friday Night shift, permanent position.

Essential Experience:

Experience of PLC equipment.

Experience on a wide range of manufacturing and production machines.

Good level of numeric, literate, verbal. Engineering reasoning and problem-solving abilities.

IT literate.

The following behavioural competencies: Communication, Problem Solving, Team Orientation, Quality/Continuous Improvement.

Education: Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline – desirable, or 2 years’ experience of working in a relevant manufacturing engineering environment.

Previous project management experience Process/Continuous Improvement would be an advantage.

Previous experience in using MRP and ERP systems for stock management would be an advantage.

Job Summary:

To provide a high standard of maintenance throughout the Production areas, to include planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities for all manufacturing equipment to ensure that delivery schedules, production volumes, and quality, cost and safety outcomes are achieved.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities: • Carry out Preventative Maintenance. • Ensure all machines are safe and fit for purpose. • Installations of new machines and equipment. • Overhaul of all plant machines and facilities implementing opportunities to enhance performance and optimize the use of resources. • Work with and fault find on single phase/three phase electrical circuits. • Actively promote safe working practices. • Work with and Coordinate Contractors. • Undertake repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work orders and predetermined specifications ensuring that the regulatory, quality and health and safety standards are met. • Fault finding, testing, and the removal or adjustments of existing fittings, fixtures and parts. • Keeping Management and relevant departments aware and seek advice and assistance when required. • To contribute to company objectives and values and sustain a climate where good employee relations are maintained.
