This is an interesting instruction with an established client, a global manufacturing organisation and key employer in the area, for an Import & Export Assistant.
This varied role is is considered an ideal opportunity for almost anyone with Logistics experience and is being presented on a fixed term contract basis for 6 months, with the possibility of a further extension to 9 months!
This is a Monday to Friday position, 37 hours per week, with attractive hybrid working arrangements in place, so 2 days in the office, 2 days working from home and 1 day flexible with an attractive hourly rate available! No shift work!
The main purpose of the role:
The role is responsible for assisting the Import & Export Manager to upkeep and check all customs data within the European operations of the business.
You will require good communication skills, good levels of numeracy and a strong attention to detail. Previous experience in customs procedures would be helpful.
Any experience using SAP also helpful, although not essential, as would knowledge of the export sales process and shipping documentation plus an understanding of INCO Terms 2020.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Providing assistance with all import shipments to UK, France & Germany.
Filing and recording all Vendor’s import commercial documentation.
Provide timely and accurate import clearance instructions.
Assist 3rd part logistics with important/export compliance requirements.
Upkeep of Supplier Declarations of origin.
Provide Commercial Invoice for returns and dispatches out of the UK.
