Receptionist Administrator - Multi Site  Health Centres

 

RSFL are seeking an experienced receptionist / administrator to join a busy Health Centre based between New Romney, Dymchurch, Royal Victoria Hospital and Buckland.

 

Full-time (37.5 hours) working on a rota system shift pattern that could be over 7 days with 2 consecutive days off.  The hours are anything from 7:45am to 8pm (this would be site dependent).

Main Focus of the Role

To receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general and administrative assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person, via email, or via telephone.

 

All About the Role

·        To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures and to work in accordance with written protocols.

·        Filing post in medical records, faxing and photocopying as requested. To process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.

·        Computer data entry/allocation and collation; process and record information in accordance with practice procedures.

·        Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice. Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.

·        Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system. Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional, to include message taking.

  • Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter. Opening up/locking up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols.
  • To treat all patients, colleagues and members of the public with respect and not to discriminate on the grounds of race, sex, religion or any other issue.
  • To ensure that Health and Safety guidelines are observed at all times and alert management to any concerns raised by staff or members of the public.
  • To be aware of guidelines relating to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
  • To ensure that strict confidentiality is observed at all times – especially when dealing with patient identifiable information.
