Project Manager - Strategic Development

Ref: HM/PM Salary: £Excellent package Contract Type: PermanentLocation: Folkestone

We are currently recruiting for a permanent Project Manager (Strategic Development) to contribute to the effective delivery of the local authority strategic development projects in relation to an exciting and ambitious programme to deliver new homes and jobs.

We’re looking for someone to focus on a direct delivery programme, someone who has extensive knowledge and experience of the property development process. The post holder will prepare tenders, let contracts and manage contracts to completion.

Combination of essential skills, knowledge and experience we are looking for in an individual:

The applicant will need to demonstrate a track record of delivering construction projects with minimum supervision.

At least 3 years experience working as a Construction project Manager developing homes of similar.

Experience and knowledge of the construction cycle from inception to handover and review.

Understanding and experience of implementing Health & Safety legislation.

Assembly and management of consultant teams.

Staff management.

Experience of procurement routes and tender negotiations.

Understanding and experience of choosing and managing constriction contracts.

Knowledge and understanding of construction project risks, demonstrable experience of implementing risk strategies.

Demonstrable experience and understanding of construction project budgets.

Excellent financial management and reporting skills.

The ability to analyse complex issues and negotiate solutions.

Up to date knowledge of design and construction techniques.

Evidence of working in a political environment would be considered an advantage!
