IT Support Technician (First Line)

Are you an experienced IT support technician looking for an immediately available contract with a national company?

This leading organisation are renowned in their field for their high quality of service. They specialise in the manufacture of a range of high quality products, supplied to a range companies across the globe, across a wide-spread of key industries.

You will work as part of a busy IT team, providing both break fix, and proactive support. Acting as the main point of contact for the day to day support and forming a good working relationship with the users concerned, you will develop an understanding of the business within the group and their needs and the IT systems in use.

The role

Providing first line support to users based within the Company, Both in person and over the telephone using remote control solutions. They have in the region of 130 users across 3 UK sites along with a network of IPhone and IPads
Act as the point of contact for support across the company

Develop an excellent understanding of the IT systems in use in the Group
Develop an excellent understanding of the business processes and procedures used within the group and how the IT systems apply to these processes
Develop the required skills and knowledge to provide an increasing level of Second line support
Administer existing documentation and where necessary create appropriate documentation for IT systems.

The person

A proven ability to provide excellent timely first line IT support on a wide variety of systems (See Below)

Proven experience of the following technologies would be extremely beneficial:
Windows domain hosted on Server 2012, Citrix Xen App, Windows 7, 8.1 & 10, Macs, Exchange Server, SQL Server, VMware, Veeam, Symantec, Backup Exec, Sophos, Mimecast, Sophos UTM, Routers, Switches, Cabling, Phone Systems and Security.

Experience of providing IT support within a manufacturing environment world be an advantage but not essential.

You will have a minimum of 1 years experience in an IT support related role.

You must have GCSE level qualifications in Maths and English (Grade A to C)

Ideally you will be working towards or willing to work towards professional qualifications.

Previous experience of working with Remote users is required.

Due to the location of this role you will be required to have your own transport.
