An exceptional opportunity for a Finance Specialist within a large corporate organisation located on prestigious Kings Hill, specialising in insurance.


The ideal person:


We are looking for someone ideally with a Finance background,  who is looking to be more involved with the business, rather than the actual production of financial or management accounts. 


Whilst there is a separate Senior Manager who heads up a team within their Protection business line who looks after the financial transactions and reconciliations for both their underwritten business and also their third party administration clients, the Finance Specialist role will involve supporting the wider team in Account Management and IT, on new business opportunities, to understand the financial flows and information that the organisation will require to be able to process the business correctly, and also supporting the processing team when that business comes in, to understand how it works and fits on their systems.


For the Finance Specialist , there will also be an involvement in forecasting and financial reviews on product performance, as well as supporting the audit process, again, both for their own or 3rd party audits. 


The Protection team are also responsible for reinsurance reporting and production of MI for the Protection business, so the Financial Specialist role will be varied and facilitate working with a wide range of people within the business.


Areas of responsibility within this position:

Supporting both the processing and financial reporting teams to ensure the business is processed appropriately, and all financial reporting requirements are met.

Understand the structure of Protection contracts for re-insurance and any other 3rd party arrangements and work within the Protection Financial Reporting Team to ensure that they are reported correctly, both internally and externally.

Help to establish financial monitoring processes to support the Protection Leadership team in the regular analysis of product performance.

Support the financial appraisal of development opportunities and the ongoing management of related financial arrangements such as profit share calculations

Work closely with the Account Management team during new business implementation to ensure client requirements are understood and interpreted correctly, then translated into workable business practices.

Work with the Protection Leadership team to support the forecasting process.

Work with the wider Protection team to support completion of any regulatory returns or information requests, understanding requirements and interpreting these to ensure the correct information is provided.


Strategic Focus:

In terms of Strategic Focus, support the team with relevant internal and external developments any changes needed to processes to remain current.


Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications:

Experience of working in a financial role within the Insurance industry.

Technical knowledge of the Insurance industry.

Degree level and hold or making progress towards a recognised professional qualification.
