Engineering Manager – (Health and Safety focus)

An exceptional opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager with a global manufacturing organisation joining their Site Leadership Team, you will be required to deliver an excellent service to all site activities. Providing leadership, support, training & development in world class facilities and maintenance techniques to the Engineering and Facilities function, in order to achieve company objectives for quality, cost, output, regulatory compliance, operational performance, and customer services.

As a highly experienced Engineering Manager with a H&S bias, you will have:    

·        Strong leadership skills, motivational management skills, excellent senior level influencing / stakeholder management skills.

·        Excellent negotiation skills together with the ability to embrace and deliver change.

·        The ability to take a technical lead of manufacturing equipment design and maintenance, including the development of full asset care regimes with clear performance metrics to ensure world class availability of the manufacturing equipment.

·        A technical understanding of facilities, building and maintenance operations

·        Practical knowledge and application of world class maintenance approaches and techniques (TPM, OEE, autonomous maintenance, CMMS & asset care)

·        Competent knowledge of current H&S and insurance legislation / best practices.

·        High Level of engineering reasoning and problem solving abilities.

Essential Education & Experience requirements:

·        Minimum degree level or equivalent in related engineering discipline.

·        Experience of working in a heavily regulated environment

·        A minimum of 5 years direct management & operational experience in a facilities role

·        Chartered Engineer & a member of an appropriate institution or with qualification leading to this would be an advantage.

·        NEBOSH Diploma

·        Proven accountability for financial control of department, projects and capital forecast accuracy

·        Competent practitioner in the application of process improvement methodologies and tools

·        Management of H&S and Environmental controls (1401 & 1800 standards)
